Leaps…n…Boundz has an exciting, energetic program that is designed to help build skills outside of the classroom.  Through the use of movement, sports and ball skills, Leaps…n…Boundz classes will address coordination, endurance, strength and balance.  Students will not only display progress within their playground skills, but also will have increased self-confidence and an improved sense of self.

Activities include, but are no limited to gymnastics, soccer, volleyball, baseball and much more.  Examples of some of the activites and skills to be taught are listed below;

Baseball- aside from learning the rules of the game, participants will also

·         Learn to throw with correct form

·         Learn to throw with dominate arm

·         Learn to step with correct foot

·         Learn to catch with two hands in a glove

·         Learn correct batting stance and swing

·         Learn to run the bases

Basketball- aside from learning the rules of the game, participants will also

·         Learn how to shoot a basket

·         Learn to dribble

·         Learn to pass

·         Learn to catch with both hands

Kickball- aside from learning the rules of the game, participants will also

·         Learn how to pitch the ball

·         Learn how to kick a moving ball

·         Learn how to catch

·         Learn how to throw the ball

·         Learn how to run the bases

Dodge ball- aside from learning the rules of the game, participants will also

·         Learn to throw the ball safely

·         Learn how to catch the ball

·         Learn how to dodge

Football- aside from learning the rules of the game, participants will also

·         Learn to throw a football

·         Learn how to catch a football

·         Learn how to kick a field goal

Program Details

·         Program runs from 2:30-6:00p  on Tuesdays

·         Leaps…n…Boundz will provide staff at a 3:1 ratio or based on enrollment. 

·         All clients must sign up through Leaps…n…Boundz

·         If the client is not enrolled through Leaps…n…Boundz currently, a free assessment will be done ahead of time to determine if a shadow will need to be provided.  If a family cannot provide a shadow, Leaps…n…Boundz will be able to provide one at an additional cost not subject to the total income collected.  This must be arranged before starting the after school program. 

·         Volunteers are welcomed any time to help participate with the students in activities.

Payment Details

·         The cost of the after school program is $35 an hour.

·         Ex: 1 hour=$35, 2 hours=$70, 3 hours=$105, Full day (2:30-6:00) discounted=$100

·         Any client attending over an hour will be charged for the next additional hour.

Team FROGZ facility at Lincoln Middle School

Team FROGZ is a swim team made up of students (both verbal & non-verbal) of all abilities. 

Practices are held on Saturday mornings at Lincoln Middle School in Santa Monica (campus map for the indoor pool).

Practices will be structured.  We will be working on stroke development, endurance and overall strength in every session.  We will also be incorporating small sets as well as repetitious movements with both verbal cuing and physical manipulation (if needed).  During the practice there will be “choices, opportunities to take a leadership role and responsibilities” in which every student can customize to their ability level.  Practices will be prearranged to also incorporate fun and enjoyment for all participants.  Twice a year we will compete against other adaptive swim teams so that we can also work on the win/loose, team camaraderie, parallel play and experience a sense of individual accomplishment.
