Adapted Physical Education (APE)

adapted-physical-educationAdapted Physical Education aims to provide additional practice time of physical education skills and to increase self-esteem while providing an appropriate level of support and modification for students in a physical education environment. This program features locomotor skills, movement concepts, fitness and specialized sport skills, and it includes the creation of Adapted Physical Education goals for Individualized Education Plans. APE sessions are available for all ages and abilities either 1:1, in small groups or large classes. Features:

Adapted Physical Education is covered within Special Education Law. Clients with an IEP are eligible to be screened for Adapted Physical Education and funding. A formal evaluation is required for all APE programming.
