Gymnastics Program

“I did it!  I did it!”  Three little words which are really big for a family with a child with special needs child.  It is these words that inspire the Leaps…n…Boundz staff.

Leaps…n…Boundz uses gymnastics to create an environment where children learn and thrive.  We use play to motivate the child’s willingness to participate, improve listening skills, raise self-esteem, and initiate social interactions.  Gymnastics builds a solid foundation for muscle strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and posture.  Through sensory and motor activities (climbing, trampoline, vault, bars, beam, tumbling, etc.), the child with special needs gains spatial awareness and the ability to manage his/her body with confidence.  Our coaches nurture children and provide a safe space where they can explore and “leap” beyond their perceived limitations.    In this setting, children not only learn to strengthen their physical bodies, but also learn to build lasting friendships with their peers and adults.  Sessions are designed according to the developmental needs of each child whether they work one-on-one or in a small group setting.

The Leaps…n…Boundz staff includes trained specialists in child development, occupational therapy, and recreational instruction.  Our goal is simple; we want to see all of children smile and yell, “I did it!  I did it!”
