Students must be able to work in a small group setting.
Frogz 2: (6-8 team members per session at a student/teacher ratio of 4:1) Students must be able to swim the length of the pool repeatedly for backstroke, breaststroke & freestyle. Students are beginning to work on flip turns, the beginning stages of butterfly, and diving. Students must be able to work in a small group setting.
TEAM FROGZ practices will be structured. We will be working on stroke development, endurance & overall strength in every session. We will be incorporating small sets, as well as repetitious movements with both verbal cuing & physical manipulation (if needed). During the practices, there will be choices and opportunities for each swimmer to take leadership roles and responsibilities. The coaches will customize the role to the swimmers ability. Practices will also incorporate fun and enjoyment for all participants. Twice a year we will compete against other adaptive swim teams. From the 2 competitions, our swimmers are able to work on sportsmanship, experiencing winning/loosing, team camaraderie, and parallel play. They can also gain a sense of individual accomplishment.
Students wishing to be a part of the team must schedule a “tryout”. Please contact the main office at (310)821-0963
