We recently pre-screened a new documentary called “Dad’s in Heaven with Nixon” (www.inheavenmovie.com). It’s a powerful film about a family living with autism. What’s unique about it is that the story begins nearly 50 years ago–when autism was virtually unknown and rarely diagnosed. With a generation of children with autism starting to transition into adulthood, this is an important film because it chronicles a young boy’s journey from darkness to light thanks to the enduring love of his mother and surrounding family. This film is inspiring, funny and ultimately shows the triumph of the human spirit. For anyone who wonders what autism might look like in the future, this film delivers. The filmmaker, Tom Murray will be on hand afterwards for an informal question and answer session. We also understand that SHOWTIME recently picked it up and there are plans to premier it in April during Autism Awareness month. However, if you would like to see this film in advance, here’s your opportunity~ Please contact Tom Murray directly so we can reserve a spot for you and your friends and family. His contact information is below. If you attend, enjoy and let us know what you think.
