Our mission is to engage and inform voters with disabilities and empower members of our community to facilitate access to voting for ourselves and our friends and neighbors with disabilities.
Disability Vote California is a non-partisan campaign to eliminate barriers to voting, promote accessibility of voting technology and polling places; educate voters about issues and candidates; promote turnout of voters with disabilities across the state; engage candidates and the media on disability issues, and protect eligible voters’ right to participate in elections.
Are You #VoteReady? You can vote if you are:
- Registered to vote
- A US Citizen
- 18 years or older by Election Day
- A resident (homeless citizens can vote)
- Not currently in state or federal prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony
- Not prohibited from voting by a court (some people under conservatorship may not be eligible to vote. Scroll to "Resources" to learn more)

Tree Lighting Ceremony
For more than 20 years, the State Capitol Christmas Tree has been
decorated with ornaments made by individuals with developmental
disabilities. The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is
requesting ornaments from regional center clients to decorate the tree.
Here are a few suggested guidelines for ornaments:
• Be creative! Feel free to use bright colors and/or reflective materials
• Plastic, laminated paper, and other waterproof materials work best!
(Glass or paper ornaments will not be accepted)
• Ornaments should be 5-10 inches in diameter by 5-8 inches in height
• Please include string or wire hanging loops for your ornaments
Due to state and local “safer at home” orders we highly encourage
you to either drop off or mail in your handmade ornaments to one of
the below locations by Thursday November 5th.
